Job Description
We are currently representing a leader within the healthcare technology space who is on a mission to reduce waste and make an impact on lives. Their product is both hardware and cloud software with device connectivity. The team is entering a major scale up phase as they ramp production and expand B2B adoption.
To make this a reality we need a Senior Backend Engineer, who can scale and harden their core platform. Especially around APIs, access controls, and telemetry services.
So, this means this candidate will do the following day to day:
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs on AWS
- Own authentication/authorization and RBAC (roles and permissions)
- Build and support IoT/device connectivity and telemetry/data flows
- Improve reliability, performance, and observability (logging/metrics/alerts)
- Collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-moving, in-office environment
So, you need to be able to:
- 4+ years of backend engineering experience (flexible for strong profiles)
- Strong AWS experience (serverless and/or containerized workloads)
- RBAC/access control experience
- IoT experience
- Production ownership mindset (debugging, monitoring, incident response)
- Ability to work 5 days onsite in Westlake Village, CA
