Position Overview

We are seeking a senior-level Freelance Web Developer who can take ownership of projects from brief to launch with minimal oversight. This role is best suited for someone who works independently, asks intelligent, clarifying questions, and delivers clean, conversion-focused websites that meet modern SEO and AI discoverability standards.

You will be trusted to make layout, UX, and technical decisions that align with best practices, brand standards, and performance goals.

Scope of Work

• Website builds, redesigns, and ongoing optimizations

• Collaboration with internal designers, SEO managers, and digital strategists

• Implementation of themes, plugins, integrations, and interactive features

• Performance, SEO, and AI discoverability baked into every build

• Ongoing maintenance, updates, and enhancements as needed

Core Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain responsive, high-quality websites

• Translate creative direction and wireframes into functional, polished executions

• Optimize websites for speed, Core Web Vitals, crawlability, and indexation

• Apply advanced on-site SEO and AI-friendly content structures

• Proactively identify UX, layout, and technical issues before they become problems

• Troubleshoot bugs, resolve technical issues, and manage updates

• Manage multiple projects efficiently while meeting deadlines

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience delivering production-ready websites with a strong live portfolio

• Advanced proficiency in HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and modern front-end practices

• Deep WordPress experience, including custom themes, builders, plugins, and performance optimization

• Strong command of technical SEO and on-site optimization

• Working knowledge of AI search and discoverability concepts such as content hierarchy, internal linking, and structured data

• Strong understanding of mobile-first and responsive design

• Ability to work independently without hand-holding

• Clear communicator who asks thoughtful questions before executing

• Detail-oriented with a sharp eye for layout, spacing, and usability

• Must be based in and working within the United States (non-negotiable)

• Clean, scalable builds that do not require rework

• Sites that load quickly and meet Core Web Vitals benchmarks

• Strong technical SEO foundations that support organic and AI visibility

Compensation

• Hourly rate based on experience, efficiency, and quality of execution

• 1099 contract position with flat rate project billing

• Consistent project flow available for the right fit
