Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Security Architect-Consultant to join a leading public sector organization. This is a 100% remote long-term contract opportunity (initially 12 months with a possibility of extension) focused on Identity and Access Management (IAM) and security automation.
The successful candidate will act as a Security IAM Engineer, assisting with the implementation, integration, and operationalization of security technologies while developing automation between disparate security tools.
Key Responsibilities
- IAM Leadership: Ensure appropriate identity management, SSO, MFA, and Active Directory configurations are implemented to support IT and security operations.
- Automation Development: Develop and implement automation for disparate security and enterprise IT tools.
- Solution Design: Strategic planning and implementation of new systems and changes to current systems in a secure manner.
- Threat Mitigation: Design and deploy countermeasures to known threats and develop preventative strategies for emergent threats to data and networks.
- Compliance & Validation: Validate the consistent application of protective measures across business applications and infrastructure

Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT or Information Security. (Note: 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree) .
- Automation Expertise: 5+ years of experience in automation development using tools such as Python and Bash.
- IAM & Logging: 5+ years of expert understanding of Identity and Access Control, logging, and reporting systems.
- Cybersecurity Foundation: 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity awareness and understanding.
- Technical Infrastructure: 5+ years of experience with Linux, Windows, and network security protocols/procedures.
- Large-Scale Experience: 5 years of experience supporting large IT environments or system deployments.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Framework Knowledge: NIST, CSF, CJIS, IRS 1075, and CMS MARS-E.
- Security Expertise: SIEM analysis, reporting, and Application Security (AppSec).
- Certifications: CISSP, CISA, CISO, CEH, OSCP, GPEN, or vendor-specific SIEM/Logging certifications
