The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Support Lead for our Snow Lake, MB operations. Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the IT Coordination within the business unit.
- Schedule work with support partners
- Maintain and improve high-efficiency IT onboarding and operational standards.
- Support the development and implementation of policies and strategies that guide IT Operations.
- Strategic Initiative Support for information infrastructure.
- Aids in proposing budgets for programs and projects, purchases and upgrades equipment, coordinates computer specialists and IT workers, and supports IT-related projects
- IT Scheduling, forecast and audit work
- Maintain IT disaster recovery and be a member of the disaster recovery team in the selection of recovery strategies and the development, testing, and maintenance of disaster recovery plans.
- Facilitate the creation of guidelines, standards, and practices that ensure that operations may function, e.g., negotiate with and influence customers/stakeholders in order to maintain customer satisfaction with new policies and practices while optimizing the operation of the entire IT infrastructure, create an environment in which customer concerns and issues may be balanced appropriately and consistently
- Provide advice and support to peers and more senior staff in order to facilitate business initiatives
- Monitor the external environment to identify new technologies that can enhance Hudbay MBU’s business.
- Maintain the currently high levels of IT user satisfaction from MBU Hudbay employees.
Education and Experience:
- A degree or diploma in computer science or a related discipline is required.
- Candidates should have 5 or more years of experience in Information Technology, with a focus on Virtualization, SAN, LANs, server and network hardware, and software support
- 2 years in a senior or leadership role in infrastructure in mining would be considered
- Experience with performance troubleshooting and monitoring.
- Project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time without negative consequences.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to enhance the efficiency of an organization's IT infrastructure.
- Preferred experience with ITIL practices for incident/problem/change management.
- Collaboration skills for working with teams and employees across multiple locations.
- Flexibility in terms of working hours and participation in an on-call rotation schedule dependent on business needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis, critical thinking, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency in resolving critical issues.
- Adaptability to rapidly changing technology environments.
- Ability to prepare written policies, procedures, and technical documents.
- High accountability and a commitment to corporate compliance and security.

Pay: $105,798.00-$117,553.00 per year
