Magic Story | Remote
Magic Story creates personalized children's entertainment where kids aged 3-6 become the heroes of their own adventures. We serve 50,000+ families with beautifully illustrated, Pixar-quality books delivered per purchase or monthly through our Magic Story+ subscription. We're scaling rapidly and need to dramatically increase product velocity and feature set.
We're seeking a talented Full Stack Web Developer to join our small, innovative remote team at Magic Story. You'll be instrumental in building and scaling our AI-powered personalized children's book platform, implementing designs from our lead product designer to create magical experiences for families worldwide.
- Develop and maintain our web application using modern JavaScript frameworks and technologies
- Build scalable backend services and APIs to support our subscription platform and book personalization engine
- Implement responsive, performant front-end experiences from Figma designs provided by our product team
- Collaborate with our product designer and PM to ensure accurate implementation of designs and user flows
- Optimize conversion funnels, checkout flows, and subscription management systems
- Integrate third-party services including payment processing, fulfillment, and marketing tools
- Use Claude Code for rapid development, code generation, and complex problem-solving
- Participate in technical architecture decisions as we scale toward Series A and beyond
- 3+ years of full stack web development experience
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React or Vue.js, and Node.js
- Experience with database design and management (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar)
- Demonstrated experience using Claude Code for development tasks and workflow optimization
- Proficiency working with Figma for design handoffs and developer mode
- Experience with subscription/e-commerce platforms and payment integrations
- Strong understanding of web performance optimization and SEO best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a distributed team environment
- Experience with AI/ML integrations and prompt engineering
- Familiarity with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms
- Experience with children's products or educational technology
- Knowledge of video generation or manipulation tools
- Experience scaling products through significant growth phases
