Hytech group is a leading Management Consultancy firm, specialising in driving digital transformation for business in the fintech industries. Hytech group has around 1500 employees in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Taiwan. From November 2023 we've launched a new office in Cyprus to develop in-house solutions for risk management, anti-fraud operations and cybersecurity.
We are looking for a Java Engineer (Middle / Middle+) to join our organization in a cross-team role with a strong focus on learning, impact, and technical growth.
This position is not tied to a single product team. You will work across three product teams, helping with high-priority technical tasks, internal tools, performance investigations, and platform-level improvements.
It is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to expand their technical skill set quickly and gain hands-on experience with a wide range of technologies and architectural challenges.

What you will do
- Work on high-priority and ad-hoc technical tasks across multiple teams
- Develop and own small services, internal tools, and automation
- Analyze and help resolve performance and stability issues
- Improve existing backend services and integrations
- Support teams with refactoring and technical improvements
- Participate in technical discussions and gradually take more complex solutions
Required skills and experience
- Good knowledge of core Java technologies, including Java SDK, basic concurrency, and Spring
- 3+ years of commercial development experience (or equivalent practical experience)
- Experience working with Kafka and Kubernetes (hands-on or strong conceptual understanding)
- Experience with version control systems and build automation tools
- Understanding of OOP principles, common design patterns, and basic system design
- Experience developing microservices or SOA-based systems (REST, gRPC, message brokers)
- Experience with relational databases; familiarity with caches and NoSQL is a plus
- English level B2
Nice to have
- Experience or interest in performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Basic DevOps understanding (CI/CD, monitoring, containerization)
- Curiosity about how systems work end-to-end
