Work set up: Position is fully remote and requires eligibility for BPSS

Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Networking Engineer with extensive Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) expertise to support a comprehensive review of an existing GKE implementation. This role is critical in assessing architecture, security, operations, and cost efficiency to ensure the platform is robust, scalable, and aligned with best practices.

What you will do:

  • Conduct a detailed review of the customer’s existing GKE environment across all key technical dimensions.
  • Assess cluster architecture and tenancy models to ensure scalability, resilience, and appropriate isolation.
  • Review networking and connectivity design to validate performance, reliability, and security.
  • Evaluate security controls, configurations, and compliance with best practices.
  • Review operational processes, monitoring, and observability to support effective day-to-day management.
  • Assess automation and CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency and reliability of deployments.
  • Review cost management and billing practices to identify optimisation opportunities.
  • Evaluate testing approaches to ensure platform stability and quality.
  • Produce clear findings and recommendations to improve the overall GKE implementation.

Qualifications

  • Proven, hands-on experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), with extensive depth in design and operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes cluster architecture, networking, and security.
  • Experience reviewing and optimising cloud-native platforms across operations, automation, and cost management.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver structured assessments and recommendations.
  • Eligibility for BPSS clearance.
