Job Advertisement — Marketing Specialist

The Opportunity

Mid-Western Regional Council is seeking a creative and driven Marketing Specialist to join our Economic Development team, to promote and grow Council's commercial business assets, including our caravan parks, Mudgee Team Training Village, saleyards and airport.

This full-time role places content at the centre of our marketing efforts. You will lead the planning and delivery of strategic marketing initiatives while producing high-quality, engaging content across digital channels. From campaign concepts and copywriting to visual and video content, you will play a hands-on role in shaping how our region and facilities are seen, experienced and chosen.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will manage digital campaigns, build strong brand presence, and use compelling storytelling to drive visitation, engagement and commercial performance across Council's business portfolio.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years' industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Developing and delivering marketing plans across a range of brands
    • Creating engaging content for social media (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
    • Managing website content and implementing SEO strategies
    • Paid social and digital media campaigns, including Google Ads
    • Reporting on Return on Investment (ROI) using tools like Google Analytics
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
  • Current Class C driver's licence and National Police Check clearance (obtained prior to appointment)
  • Knowledge of WHS responsibilities and a commitment to safety
Highly Desirable

  • Experience in marketing caravan parks or hotels
  • Knowledge of local government operations
