About The Role

As a Machine Learning Engineer at Voxel51, you will be integral to our mission of democratizing data-centric machine learning. You will collaborate with a talented team to develop features supporting dataset curation, model analysis, and seamless integrations across the entire machine learning lifecycle. Your work will involve creating powerful, extensible tools accessible via APIs and no-code workflows, addressing unique challenges associated with unstructured data such as images and videos.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to a vibrant open source community while maintaining enterprise-grade standards for our commercial products. Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience developing machine learning products and systems
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Proficiency in Python programming
• Expertise with machine learning and scientific computing libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy)
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DocumentDB, Elasticsearch
• Experience maintaining or contributing to open source projects or a strong passion to start one
• Ability to work effectively in a remote-first, collaborative environment using tools like GitHub and Slack
• A passion for elegant and efficient software engineering

Responsibilities

• Push the boundaries of open-source data-centric AI by developing innovative capabilities for unstructured datasets and state-of-the-art models
• Scale data-centric AI solutions to handle billions of samples across continually learning models
• Collaborate with UX designers and core software engineers to translate AI capabilities into user-friendly software features
• Contribute to technical strategy discussions to guide the development of our software platform, enhancing transparency and data clarity
• Engage actively in open source communities, sharing knowledge and advancing collective progress
• Maintain high standards of code quality, testing, and documentation for enterprise-grade software
