Role Description

This is a part-time remote role for a Cyber Security Specialist. The responsibilities include assessing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity protocols, focusing on application, network, and information security. The specialist will also identify vulnerabilities, develop strategies to mitigate risks, and support client organizations in ensuring their cybersecurity infrastructure is robust and up-to-date.


Employment Type Part-time, Remote


Compensation Hourly contract basis: per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)


Expected Hours 15-25 hours per week (flexible schedule with core availability during Asian business hours preferred)


Contract Duration Initial 6-month contract with potential for extension based on performance and business needs


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive cybersecurity assessments for client organizations
  • Identify and document security vulnerabilities across applications, networks, and systems
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies tailored to client needs
  • Design and maintain cybersecurity protocols and compliance frameworks
  • Provide expert consultation to hedge funds and startups on security best practices
  • Prepare detailed security reports and recommendations for stakeholders
  • Stay current with emerging threats and cybersecurity trends in Asian markets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure holistic security coverage


Required Qualifications

  • Application Security expertise, including identifying and mitigating application vulnerabilities
  • Knowledge in Cybersecurity and Cyber strategies to counter evolving threats
  • Skills in Network Security to ensure secure communication protocols and systems
  • Strong understanding of Information Security practices and compliance standards
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience
  • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent
  • Experience working with Asian markets or multinational clients
  • Knowledge of financial sector cybersecurity requirements and regulations
  • Familiarity with startup ecosystems and scaling security practices
  • Additional language skills (Korean, Mandarin, Japanese, or Hebrew)
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)


Work Environment

  • Fully remote position
  • Flexible working hours with some availability during Asian business hours (GMT+8 to GMT+9)
