About CalBuddy
CalBuddy is Israel's largest AI-powered calorie tracking app for Hebrew speakers, with over 4,000 active paying subscribers and 100%+ month-over-month revenue growth. We've built something people genuinely love and use daily - and we're just getting started. In 2026, we're expanding to multiple new markets.
You'll be joining as the first full-time developer, working directly with me (the founder) to own the entire technical product. This isn't about maintaining legacy code - it's about rapidly building features that make users addicted to the app and keep them coming back.
What you'll build:
- End-to-end features in React Native (Expo) for iOS and Android
- Native iOS and Android widgets and platform-specific features using Swift/Kotlin
- Backend logic using Supabase Edge Functions, Node.js servers, and PostgreSQL
- Product improvements focused on retention, engagement, and user delight
- Whatever it takes to solve problems and ship fast
Must-haves:
- High agency - you see problems and fix them without waiting for permission
- Fast learner - you can pick up new technologies and solve unfamiliar problems quickly
- Strong foundation in React Native and mobile development
- Comfortable writing native iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin/Java) code
- Experience with backend development, APIs, and PostgreSQL databases
- Obsessed with product quality and user experience
Nice-to-haves:
- Previous work on consumer apps or health-tech
- Experience with Supabase or similar platforms
- Track record of shipping products independently
