Role Summary
The Technical Product Manager (TPM) for Core Services & Automation will serve as a key connector between engineering, operations, and business stakeholders. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with strong software development experience who can assess, prototype, and deliver infrastructure solutions that improve internal workflows and support trading and research functions.
You will be responsible for technical discovery, solution validation, integration feasibility, and roadmap delivery in collaboration with senior leadership. Key Responsibilities
Strategy, Alignment & Roadmap Development
- Translate operational and platform technology goals into a clear, actionable product roadmap.
- Facilitate planning sessions across product, architecture, and engineering teams.
- Identify interdependencies and opportunities to enhance internal processes and systems.
Technology Assessment & Prioritization
- Conduct buy-vs-build evaluations aligned with strategic priorities and resource availability.
- Analyze business value vs. technical complexity to inform prioritization.
Solution Design, Prototyping & Discovery
- Rapidly prototype and validate new tools, frameworks, and systems integrations.
- Create minimum viable solutions to prove value before investing in full-scale implementation.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Act as a primary technical product liaison to operations and back-office teams.
- Translate complex technical concepts into accessible language for diverse stakeholders.
Engineering Collaboration & Systems Integration
- Develop and test integration plans for new technologies with existing infrastructure.
- Set implementation standards and best practices for solution deployment.
Technical Research & Experimentation
- Evaluate emerging tools and technologies for applicability in internal and external systems.
- Lead exploratory development efforts in support of engineering and product teams.
Performance Metrics & Value Measurement
- Define and track KPIs to evaluate the impact of new products and process improvements.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to visualize performance insights and support decision-making.
Operational Optimization & FinOps
- Recommend and implement improvements in technical operations and cost efficiency (e.g., cloud usage).
- Help drive adoption of financial operations best practices across technical teams.
Candidate Profile
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years in software development, data engineering, or technical operations.
- Proven experience building and launching internal tools or platforms in a product ownership role.
- Strong programming and systems integration skills with an emphasis on rapid prototyping.
- Effective communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Exposure to financial services or trading environments (e.g., time series data, market structures).
- High degree of autonomy and ownership in managing end-to-end solution cycles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with infrastructure tools (e.g., AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD).
- Prior role within a proprietary trading, fintech, or quantitative finance organization.
