Peanut Technologies is searching for a Digital Designer to help with the website segment of our business, where we create visual assets for restaurant websites. This designer would take on design projects and manage the pipeline of the project from customer discovery to project delivery.
Peanut Technologies (peanuttab.com) provides IT, digital and creative services to restaurants and hospitality groups. Through our partnerships with technology vendors, we serve 100+ restaurants annually.
This role does not require any knowledge and expertise in coding/ front-end web dev, as we do not utilize any coding in any of our design processes. We however welcome candidates with any helpful front-end background to apply.
Job Responsibilities
Design and Implementation
- Building out the web pages using a custom drag-and-drop website builder developed by one of our affiliates (no coding required)
- Utilizing Canva and other design tools to create custom elements for some of the client's webpages
- Strategizing content structure on restaurant websites
- Working with our in-house artist to select the color schematics, fonts, etc. needed for client websites
Client Calls, Research & Discovery
- Participating in discovery calls with clients to learn more about their needs
- Participating in review calls with clients to get feedback and revisions on websites
- Researching the restaurant brands online (social media, existing websites, Google customer photos, etc), to understand their vibe and style to better represent them online
- Researching competitors and similar neighboring restaurants to our clients to understand their place in the market better and how to make them competitive online
Project Management & Trainings
- Regularly updating project pipelines to keep the status of projects up to date
- Participating in training programs to gain more depth on the suite of technologies developed by our affiliate
Preferred Skills/ Ideal Candidate
Importance: High
- Access to a serene workspace without too much background noise
- Access to a stable power source and backup power source
- Great attention to detail
- Great conversational skills and confidence holding conversations with clients
- Someone with a high visual IQ. This is key, when designing for the kinds of restaurants we work with. We need someone who understands the difference between a shade of green that aligns with a restaurant brand, and another shade that doesn't
Importance: Medium
- 1-5 years of experience in web design/ UI-UX/ graphic design/ photography/ social media, any creative or visual arts-related role
- Portfolio of work that displays great use of imagery, color, typography, and iconography
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Importance: Not super important but helpful
- Any experience with any drag-and-drop website builder
- Any agency experience
- Design school degree/ educational background/ certification in Graphic Design/Digital Design/ UI-UX (or equivalent).
- Experience in client-facing role
Compensation & Hours
Hours
Hours are 12 pm to 10 pm daily (with 2 hours of break) except on Nigerian public holidays. Occasional half-day shifts on Saturdays and public holidays will be assigned (we usually have 1 team member on call for half a day on Saturdays and public holidays, so you would be part of the rotation once every 4-6 weeks)
Compensation
Pay is competitive. This role is also eligible for health insurance, gym membership, and paid time off once converted to full time. We cover up to NGN 20,000 internet fees monthly and certain other technology costs upon review and approval.
Candidates are required to have at least two wifi/ internet networks:
- A primary broadband/ fiber/ 5G/ satellite network
- A backup network, which can include phone data plans like MTN.
Both networks must have a minimum download speed of 15 mbps.

- Location: Our company is 100% remote. You can be based anywhere in Nigeria.
- This is a 6 month contract to hire full-time position
- Time Off:
- 2 weeks paid vacation annually (eligible after first 6 months)
- 1 week off during Christmas and New Year celebrations
