Summary
We’re partnering with a venture-backed startup in the cryptocurrency and decentralized trading space to hire a Senior Blockchain Engineer who will design, build, and help architect core exchange and on-chain trading systems powering a next-generation derivatives trading platform. This is a high-impact role where you will work across smart contracts, backend services, and exchange infrastructure, collaborating closely with engineering leadership, product teams, and quantitative researchers. The ideal candidate has prior experience building trading venues or core exchange components and can take ownership of critical systems from design through production.
What you’ll do
- Architect and implement core exchange smart contracts for trading, liquidity, settlement, and risk management.
- Build backend services powering order flow, pricing, position management, and funding calculations.
- Own and evolve exchange-critical components with a focus on correctness, performance, and security.
- Design secure, gas-efficient, and upgradeable contract systems with best-in-class safety practices.
- Integrate oracles, index price feeds, and trading-critical market data sources.
- Develop internal tools for monitoring, simulation, load testing, and protocol analysis.
- Lead technical decisions, participate in code reviews, and uphold engineering best practices.
- Work closely with product, quant, and engineering teams to refine and ship trading features end-to-end.
Core Requirements
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Solidity and Rust, with a deep understanding of EVM architecture and L2 ecosystems.
- Experience building secure, production-grade smart contracts with attention to gas optimization and upgradeability.
- Background in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or high-throughput backend services.
- Familiarity with AMMs, derivatives, perpetuals, or general on-chain trading mechanics.
- Proven ability to take projects from concept to production in a fast-paced, startup-style environment.
- Availability to overlap with CST
Nice to have
- Experience contributing to a perpetuals DEX or other crypto exchange protocols.
- Understanding of liquidation systems, margin models, funding payments, and leveraged trading.
- Knowledge of oracle design, TWAP mechanisms, index pricing, and market data aggregation.
- Exposure to zero-knowledge systems (ZK), TEEs, or privacy-preserving order flow solutions.
- Background in MEV-aware system design or transaction-flow optimization.
