Role Description
We are designing a consumer-facing digital platform operating in a trust-based, compliance-heavy environment. The product involves sensitive subject matter and requires a mature, discreet, and highly professional design approach.
A foundational UI/UX already exists. The initial scope focuses on reviewing, refining, and professionally polishing the current design to production quality.
This is an hourly, contract-based role with an initial fixed-scope phase, followed by ongoing part-time collaboration and potential for expansion.
Scope of Work
- Initial phase: Approximately 40 hours total to review, refine, and professionally polish the existing UI/UX
- Ongoing phase: A few hours per week for iterations, refinements, and new flows
- Growth potential: Significant increase in scope and hours if the product gains traction
Responsibilities
- Audit and improve an existing UI/UX design for clarity, consistency, and trust
- Elevate visual quality while maintaining a calm, respectful, and professional tone
- Refine sensitive flows (onboarding, verification, permissions, safety) for usability and confidence
- Align typography, spacing, color usage, and components into a cohesive design system
- Produce high-fidelity designs ready for implementation
- Collaborate asynchronously with product and engineering teams
Qualifications
- Senior-level UI/UX design experience with a strong portfolio of shipped products
- Proven experience refining and elevating existing products rather than designing from scratch only
- Experience designing for sensitive, private, or regulated interactions
- Strong understanding of trust signals, user psychology, and behavioral design
- High level of personal maturity, discretion, and emotional intelligence
- Comfortable working on non-mainstream or ambiguous product domains
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
