We work closely with founders and leadership teams, acting as trusted advisors throughout the compliance journey while building scalable delivery practices as the business grows.


Role Overview


The Serious Delivery Manager is responsible for running customer compliance projects end-to-end and owning the customer relationship throughout implementation. This role coordinates technical specialists to successfully deliver ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications, manages timelines and deliverables, and ensures customers pass audits with confidence.


This is a senior, hands-on delivery leadership role focused on project excellence, customer trust, and people management rather than deep technical execution.


Key Responsibilities


Customer Project Delivery

  • Own customer compliance projects from kick-off through successful certification
  • Lead discovery and kick-off workshops to understand customer context and constraints
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, risks, and stakeholder expectations
  • Coordinate Serious Control Experts delivering technical compliance work
  • Prepare customers for Stage 2 (ISO 27001) and Type 1 / Type 2 (SOC 2) audits
  • Act as the primary escalation point throughout the engagement


Customer Relationship Ownership

  • Serve as the trusted advisor for customers across their compliance journey
  • Manage scope, change requests, extensions, and commercial discussions
  • Navigate stakeholder dynamics within customer organizations
  • Maintain strong relationships beyond certification into ongoing engagements


People & Team Management

  • Line manage Serious Control Experts across multiple concurrent projects
  • Allocate work effectively based on capacity and project priority
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction across all deliveries


ISMS & Audit Coordination

  • Oversee the setup and operation of customer Information Security Management Systems (ISMS)
  • Lead gap analysis and process workshops
  • Coordinate policy, procedure, and control development
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and certification bodies


Business & Leadership Contribution

  • Provide input into pricing, scoping, and capacity planning
  • Contribute to improving and scaling delivery processes
  • Support hiring and development of future Delivery Managers and Control Experts
  • Participate in leadership discussions shaping business growth


Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience running ISO 27001 implementations end-to-end
  • Practical experience delivering SOC 2 (Type 1 & Type 2) engagements
  • 3+ years in customer-facing delivery or consulting roles
  • Strong project management skills with complex stakeholder environments
  • Prior people management or mentoring experience
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Comfortable managing distributed teams across time zones
  • Experience working with startups, scale-ups, or small businesses


Preferred Skills / Nice to Have


  • Experience scaling delivery teams in consulting environments
  • Exposure to managing technical specialists
  • Confidence handling difficult customer conversations
  • CISSP, CISA, or similar certifications (experience preferred over credentials)
  • Strong real-world understanding of information security practices


Work Schedule

  • Shifts: Monday to Friday (8 am - 5 pm UK time) / 10 am - 7 pm SAST
