About The Role

The Senior Data Analyst position at Guidehouse offers a unique opportunity to support critical national security initiatives within the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). This role involves working closely with the Chief of Staff for a major Program Executive Office (PEO), providing analytical insights that influence strategic decision-making. The primary focus is on business analytics, including financial analysis, data visualization, and ad hoc reporting to monitor financial risks and identify opportunities. The role requires a deep understanding of the Planning, Programming, Budget, and Execution (PPBE) process, enabling the candidate to track budgets and spend plans effectively. Beyond financial analysis, the Senior Data Analyst will assist in data management improvements, digital process automation, and analyzing operational data related to program capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively to translate complex data into understandable insights for senior leadership.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must possess an active and maintained Top Secret SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance, including the ability to upgrade and sustain this clearance with a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, along with a minimum of five years of experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community clients. At least two years of experience specifically supporting data analytics and visualization is essential. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in data visualization tools, preferably Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server, and possess programming skills in Python and SQL, with the ability to develop data pipelines and manipulate data frames. A solid understanding of the PPBE process and government spend planning is highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, particularly when engaging with senior government officials. Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira will be advantageous, especially for supporting NGA projects.

Responsibilities

The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting the NGA’s PEO leadership by providing comprehensive data analysis and visualization. Key responsibilities include tracking and analyzing financial data related to budgets, spend plans, and financial risks, ensuring alignment with the PPBE process. The role involves creating executive-level visualizations and reports that succinctly communicate complex data insights to senior officials. The analyst will support data management efforts, automating digital processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. Additionally, the role entails collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop data solutions that address operational challenges and enhance decision-making. The candidate will assist in designing and implementing data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, and supporting ad hoc analytical requests. They will also help foster a data-driven culture within the organization by providing training and guidance on data visualization best practices.

Retirement savings are supported through a 401(k) plan, complemented by life insurance options, health savings accounts, and flexible spending accounts for dental, vision, and dependent care. Short-term and long-term disability coverage are available to provide financial security. Additional perks include student loan repayment programs, tuition reimbursement, skills development, and certification opportunities.
