Job Description
We are looking for a Business Analyst to support the implementation and configuration of academic advising and degree planning systems for higher education institutions, including the Ellucian Smart Plan system. The role involves requirements gathering, system configuration, data analysis, and cross-team collaboration. This is a remote role with work aligned to US business hours. No prior Ellucian experience is required; training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Gather and document business and system requirements from clients.
- Configure academic advising and degree planning rules within the Ellucian Smart Plan system based on institutional needs.
- Support data migration, validation, and system integration activities.
- Analyze data using SQL or similar query tools to support reporting and troubleshooting.
- Assist in system testing, issue investigation, and client support.
- Coordinate tasks and updates with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently and with remote teams.
- Experience with school systems, ERP, or enterprise software implementations.
- Familiarity with SQL, data queries, or JSON.
- Background in education, EdTech, or data migration projects.
