Job Description


Overview:

Join our team as a Mid-level Vulnerability Analyst, where you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding critical systems through expert vulnerability assessment and risk mitigation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your cybersecurity expertise in a mission-driven environment supporting the NIH’s enterprise security operations. Your insights will directly impact the protection of sensitive health data, ensuring continuous monitoring and rapid response to emerging threats.


Location: 100% Remote

Clearance Needed: NIH Public Trust


Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the severity and potential impact of discovered vulnerabilities to inform risk prioritization.
  • Create comprehensive reports that detail findings, risk assessments, and actionable mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with system administrators and developers to address vulnerabilities, verify fixes, and ensure system resilience.
  • Support enterprise cybersecurity operations in alignment with federal standards and guidelines including HHS, DHS CISA, and FISMA.
  • Stay informed on the latest cybersecurity threats, tools, and best practices to proactively protect NIH systems.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Vulnerability Analyst or similar role, demonstrating hands-on vulnerability management.
  • Strong knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools and techniques.
  • Experience with incident response, risk analysis, and mitigation planning.
  • Ability to interpret technical findings into clear, actionable reports.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.


Nice to Haves (Not Required):

  • Industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+.
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity standards and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with enterprise-level cybersecurity monitoring and threat intelligence.
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation tools to streamline vulnerability management processes.
