Job Opportunity: IBM Planning Analytics Consultant (TM1)
Location: Fully Remote – Pacific Time Zone (West Coast strongly preferred)

We’re a growing consulting company and we have a strong need for new talent. Someone with the skills or the ability to learn Planning Analytics (TM1) to join our team and deliver high-impact solutions to clients across industries.
About the Role
This is a client-facing consulting position where you’ll work directly with finance and FP&A teams at Fortune 500 and mid-market companies to design, implement, and optimize IBM Planning Analytics solutions. Projects range from full implementations to model optimizations, integrations, and upgrades. You’ll collaborate remotely with clients and internal teams to deliver scalable, user-friendly planning systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather business requirements and translate them into technical designs
- Design and develop multidimensional cubes, TurboIntegrator (TI) processes, rules, feeders, and workflows
- Build data integrations, automate loads, and create reporting/dashboard solutions (PAW, PAfE, Perspectives)
- Lead client workshops, provide training, and support user adoption
- Optimize model performance, troubleshoot issues, and document solutions
- Contribute to project scoping, timelines, and delivery excellence
What We're Looking For
Required
- Strong database and SQL skills (query writing, relational databases, data modeling, ETL processes)
- Proven analytical skills and experience handling complex datasets
- Excellent client-facing communication – ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Self-starter comfortable in a remote, consulting environment
- Must be located in (or willing to align core hours with) Pacific Time Zone for optimal client collaboration
Strongly Preferred
- Hands-on experience with IBM Planning Analytics / TM1 (cubes, TI scripting, rules/feeders, PAW/PAfE, Architect)
- Prior consulting experience (Big 4, boutique firm, or independent)
- Background in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, or corporate finance
- Exposure to integrations (REST APIs, scripting, Python a plus)
If you have strong database and SQL skills, we will teach you Planning Analytics. We’re actively looking for candidates who may not yet have TM1 experience but are quick learners with solid technical foundations. We’ll invest heavily in your training (including certifications) to help you become a subject-matter expert in one of the most in-demand tools in enterprise performance management.
