Job Description


  • Job Title: ML Engineer – Benchmarking & Performance Optimization
  • Location: Remote (U.S.-based only)
  • Compensation: $80–$120/hour (independent contractor, weekly payments via Stripe Connect)


We are hiring Machine Learning Engineers to support structured benchmarking and performance-improvement initiatives for one of our clients—a global organization advancing real-world ML workflows. This part-time role is ideal for early-career ML engineers or ML-focused graduate researchers seeking hands-on, high-impact project work.


What You’ll Do

  • Draft detailed natural-language plans and code implementations for ML tasks
  • Translate novel ML problems into agent-executable tasks for RL environments
  • Identify failure modes in LLM-generated trajectories and apply corrective patches
  • Contribute to systematic benchmarking across models, datasets, and workflows


What You’ll Bring

  • 0–2 years of ML engineering experience or current/completed PhD-level ML coursework
  • Strong Python proficiency and experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, XGBoost, scikit-learn, etc.)
  • Familiarity with data preparation, training workflows, and model evaluation
  • Bonus: contributions to ML benchmarks or competitive evaluations
  • Must be based in the United States


Opportunity Details

  • ~20 hours/week
  • Fully remote & asynchronous
