About The Role

We are seeking a Backend-Focused Full Stack Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will primarily concentrate on developing and optimizing backend services that support millions of daily interactions across our core AI voice and chat products. Your responsibilities will include designing scalable backend functionalities, refactoring existing business logic to enhance performance, and supporting our production environment. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams comprising product managers, machine learning engineers, and customer support to create innovative tools that empower users to craft AI-powered conversations. You will also contribute to frontend development as needed, ensuring seamless integration across our platform. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in backend engineering, a passion for AI and telephony, and a commitment to engineering excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in a SaaS environment
  • Proven track record of owning and delivering scalable, maintainable solutions for millions of users
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on impact-driven results
  • Expertise in Node.js or Python, deployed on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL, and ORM tools such as TypeORM or Sequelize
  • Knowledge of data engineering, CI/CD pipelines, and AI integration including LLM prompt engineering
  • Enthusiasm for AI, machine learning, or telephony technologies

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scalable backend services to support millions of daily conversations
  • Refactor, optimize, and debug production systems to enhance performance, reduce latency, and control costs
  • Implement new features that improve system reliability and user experience
  • Collaborate with product and machine learning teams to design innovative AI-powered tools
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor peers, and champion best practices and design patterns
  • Participate in on-call rotations, actively monitoring live systems and addressing issues promptly
  • Continuously analyze system performance metrics and incorporate customer feedback to drive improvements
