Job Description

We are a team of multiple time YCombinator founders building the AI Operating System for healthcare practices — powering every patient interaction through human-like voice agents, intelligent chat/SMS, automated scheduling, and deep PMS/EHR integrations. We work with dental, ENT, ortho, and primary care practices nationwide, supporting millions of patient interactions and rapidly expanding across the U.S.

Our mission is simple:

Automate the entire patient journey. Make care access effortless. Supercharge every practice.

This is an opportunity to join one of the fastest-moving teams in applied AI + healthcare, right as we scale from dozens to hundreds of practices.

The Role

We’re hiring our first Forward Deployment Engineer (FDE) to sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer onboarding.

This role is for an engineer who wants to work close to real customers, debug live systems, and turn messy real-world problems into hardened product improvements. You will own onboarding reliability and time-to-live for complex healthcare customers.

This is not a support role and not a pure SWE role. You will ship code, debug production issues, work directly with Customer Success, and feed learnings back into core product and engineering.

What You’ll Do

Customer Deployment & Onboarding

  • Own technical onboarding for new healthcare practices, especially complex and multi-location accounts
  • Configure and validate scheduling logic, call flows, transfers, and routing
  • Run end-to-end test calls and live validation before go-live
  • Diagnose onboarding blockers using logs, traces, and real call behavior

Production Debugging & First Response

  • Act as the first engineering responder for onboarding and go-live issues
  • Investigate call failures, booking issues, verification loops, and edge cases
  • Implement fixes, workarounds, or clear escalation paths to core engineering

Product Feedback & Hardening

  • Identify patterns in onboarding failures and recurring issues
  • Turn one-off fixes into product improvements, defaults, and guardrails
  • Write clear repro steps, recommendations, and product insights
  • Partner with Product & Engineering to eliminate manual or fragile workflows

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Customer Success during onboarding and go-lives
  • Partner with core engineers on deeper fixes and infrastructure changes
  • Help shape best practices, playbooks, and deployment standards

What We’re Looking For

Engineering Skills

  • 3–7+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack engineer
  • Strong debugging instincts in production systems
  • Comfortable with:
  • APIs and backend services
  • async workflows and stateful systems
  • config-driven behavior
  • Experience supporting live systems or customer deployments is a big plus

Communication & Ownership

  • Clear, calm communicator under pressure
  • Comfortable working directly with customers and internal teams
  • Able to translate vague problems into concrete technical issues
  • Takes ownership and follows issues through to resolution

Domain Experience (Nice to Have, Not Required)

  • Healthcare, vertical SaaS, or workflow-heavy products
  • Telephony, VoIP, or real-time systems
  • B2B SaaS deployments or enterprise onboarding

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a ticket-only support role
  • Not a sales or solutions engineer role
  • Not a purely internal SWE role

This is a hands-on, high-impact engineering role close to real customers and real systems.

Why Join Neurality Health

  • Direct impact on product reliability and customer outcomes
  • Work on real AI + voice systems in production
  • High ownership and autonomy
  • Close collaboration with founders and leadership
  • Opportunity to shape how we scale onboarding and deployments

Compensation

  • Competitive salary (based on experience and region)
  • Meaningful equity
  • Fully remote work
