Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented SPPID Administrator to join our engineering team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have 12–15 years of hands-on experience in managing and administering SPPID environments, with a strong background in engineering design systems, database management, and project execution support. The SPPID Administrator is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and support of SmartPlant P&ID (SPPID) systems across engineering projects. This role ensures data integrity, supports multidisciplinary teams, and facilitates efficient project execution within industries such as oil & gas, petrochemicals, and refineries.

Your role

Responsibilities

System Setup & Maintenance

  • Configure and maintain the SPPID reference database.
  • Create and manage symbology, filters, reports, and system documentation.
  • Ensure daily backup routines and system integrity.

Project Support

  • Aid in technical requirements gathering and client meetings.
  • Implement new SPPID builds and project-specific customizations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve P&ID-related issues.

Data Management

  • Manage data transfers, MTO downloads, and report generation.
  • Populate data from external sources (e.g., Excel) into SPPID.

Quality Assurance

  • Develop and enforce auditing requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with client and departmental drafting standards.

Training & Documentation

  • Conduct user and advanced-level training sessions.
  • Create detailed work instructions and setup documentation.
  • Integration & Automation:
  • Integrate SPPID with tools like SPF, COMOS, and Excel.
  • Support automation enhancements and evaluate new software versions.

About You

Required skills and experience

  • Diploma, Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 12–15 years of experience in SP3D administration in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or infrastructure sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of SPPID modules (Piping, Equipment, Structure, Electrical, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of relational databases (Oracle/MS SQL) and SmartPlant Foundation.
  • Experience with integration of SPPID with other engineering tools (e.g., SPPID, SPEL, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in SPPID or related tools.
  • Experience with cloud-based SPPID deployments.
  • Familiarity with other Hexagon tools and platforms.
