Job Description:
Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:
2.1. Accessibility testing:
- Perform accessibility evaluations of interactive charts, interactive data visualisation tools, filters,
- components, and navigation elements in accordance with WCAG 2.1 AA and Commission
- guidelines.
- Use accessibility testing tools (axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, screen readers such as NVDA) to detect
- accessibility barriers.
- Document findings and collaborate remotely with the business analyst and developers to implement
- improvements.
- Contribute to accessibility checklists and internal best-practice guidelines.
2.2. Manual testing of interactive charts, interactive data visualisation tools and Data
Browser
- Prepare and execute test plans covering interactions such as filtering, range selection, tooltip/hover
- behaviours, and legend interactions.
- Verify consistency between visual outputs and underlying datasets.
- Test edge cases (empty selections, invalid values, extreme data ranges).
- Check integration between charts, navigation elements, and tables inside the Data Browser.
- Report defects, follow up on fixes, and perform retesting.
- Test if the components used in interactive data visualisations work bug-free and do not cause any regressions
2.3. Automated testing:
- Support the design and implementation of automated test routines (Playwright).
- Develop simple automated checks for critical paths, DOM structure, and accessibility assertions.
- Maintain automated test scripts in collaboration with the developers.
2.4. Documentation and reporting:
- Produce structured test reports, accessibility evaluation summaries, and test-case documentation.
- Maintain clear and versioned documentation in Confluence, ensuring traceability of all testing
- activities.
- Record defects with strong reproducibility steps, screenshots, and expected/observed behaviour in Jira.
2.5. Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with the accessibility expert to prepare, review, and maintain accessibility-
- focused test plans, ensuring that WCAG requirements and Eurostat guidelines are accurately reflected in all testing activities.
- Work remotely with developers, UX/UI designers, and the business analyst.
- Participate in user-acceptance testing sessions.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:
- Knowledge of digital accessibility principles and WCAG 2.1 AA.
- Experience with accessibility assessment tools and screen-reader basics (NVDA).
- Understanding of software testing fundamentals.
- Ability to work with structured datasets (CSV, Excel, JSON).
- Experience with at least one automated testing framework (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium).
- Good knowledge of HTML 5, CSS; basic scripting skills (JavaScript or Python).
- Understanding of Git version control.
- Familiarity with interactive chart libraries (Highcharts).
- Experience with Atlassian tools, in particular Confluence for documentation and Jira for issue tracking
- and test planning.
- Familiarity with browser developer tools.
- Comfortable working fully remotely with digital collaboration tools.
- Very good command of English (C2).
- Strong attention to detail and methodical work habits.
- Excellent ability to work autonomously, efficiently, and fast

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE
Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:
- At least 4 years analysing, prioritizing, and detailing business concepts under the shape of technical
- analysis.
- At least 4 years in writing clear and structured business requirements.
CERTIFICATIONS & STANDARDS:
- Any certification relevant for the tasks, knowledge and experience mentioned above in the
- technical annex can be an advantage.
