Role Overview

We are seeking a part-time, contract-based AI Communications & Brand Strategy Manager to serve as a central strategic operator across PR, awards, podcast platforms, business development, brand onboarding, content creation, and AI-powered brand governance.


This role blends communications leadership, strategic writing, AI systems management, and cross-team coordination. While editing and copy refinement are part of the job, the core focus is owning brand voice, content strategy, and execution quality across PR, websites, SEO-driven content, and sales enablement assets.


You will work closely with Valerie Jennings, leadership, SEO, website, and content teams to ensure that every brand narrative—earned, owned, or sold—is aligned, intentional, and performance-driven.

Key ResponsibilitiesPublic Relations, Awards & Thought Leadership
  • Manage PR initiatives and awards submissions for JSMM and select clients.
  • Track award calendars, submission requirements, deadlines, and supporting materials.
  • Develop and refine executive bios, brand narratives, positioning statements, and media-ready copy.
  • Ensure PR messaging integrates seamlessly with website content, SEO strategy, and social distribution.
Podcast Platform & Executive Visibility
  • Manage Valerie Jennings’ podcast platforms, including guest vetting, positioning, and content flow.
  • Support episode planning, talking points, summaries, show notes, and promotional copy.
  • Ensure podcasts integrate into PR, SEO, website content, and social strategy.
Business Development & Sales Enablement
  • Support business development meetings and sales pitches, including:
  • Writing and refining pitch decks, positioning language, and proposal copy.
  • Conducting AI-assisted research and competitive analysis.
  • Translating discovery calls into structured onboarding documentation.
  • Help shape sales narratives and service positioning for JSMM offerings.
Content Creation & Website Copywriting
  • Write and oversee strategic website copy, including:
  • Homepages and core service pages
  • Landing pages and conversion-focused content
  • Brand story, positioning, and messaging frameworks
  • Create long-form and short-form content, including:
  • Blog posts and thought leadership articles
  • PR releases and editorial content
  • Sales, onboarding, and brand documentation
  • Ensure all content aligns with SEO strategy, keyword intent, UX, and conversion goals.
Editorial Oversight, Content Approvals & Calendars
  • Edit and QA content across all client deliverables for clarity, brand voice, compliance, and strategic alignment.
  • Manage client content review and approval processes, including:
  • Preparing content for client review
  • Incorporating feedback efficiently
  • Ensuring approvals stay on schedule
  • Oversee and maintain editorial calendars across platforms, ensuring:
  • Timelines are met
  • Content aligns with campaign priorities
  • PR, social, SEO, and website updates are coordinated
  • Act as the final checkpoint before content moves into execution or publishing.
SEO & Website Team Collaboration
  • Work directly with SEO and website teams to:
  • Translate keyword research into content outlines and copy
  • Ensure on-page content supports rankings, UX, and conversions
  • Align brand voice with technical SEO requirements
  • Help organize content roadmaps, education hubs, press & insights centers, and pillar pages.
  • Review and optimize website copy using AI tools, SEO insights, and performance data.
Client Onboarding, Brand Strategy & Organization
  • Participate in client onboarding calls to help define:
  • Brand voice and messaging hierarchy
  • Content strategy and storytelling approach
  • Editorial and styling guidelines
  • Establish and manage AI-powered brand profiles (Notion or similar), documenting:
  • Brand voice rules
  • Messaging pillars
  • Tone, language, and content guardrails
  • Serve as a connective layer between strategy, content, creative, SEO, and execution teams.
AI Systems, Brand Voice & Content Governance
  • Use AI tools to:
  • Maintain brand voice consistency across teams and platforms
  • Guide editing, approvals, and content optimization workflows
  • Assist with QA, refinement, and compliance (Grammarly, LLMs, AI workflows)
  • Ensure AI is used strategically and responsibly, not as a shortcut.
  • Support internal teams on how to use AI within established brand frameworks.
Metrics, Reporting & Organization
  • Track and organize content, PR, SEO, and editorial performance metrics.
  • Provide leadership with insights tied to brand authority, visibility, and engagement.
  • Maintain clean documentation and centralized systems.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing or PR agency environment.
  • Strong background in editing, content governance, and client approvals.
  • Proven ability to write strategic website copy and SEO-aligned content.
  • Experience managing editorial calendars across multiple clients.
  • Advanced proficiency with AI tools for writing, editing, research, and organization.
  • Experience using Notion or similar platforms for brand documentation and workflows.
  • Comfortable on client calls and leading content-related discussions.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
