Job Description

About Qolytics:

Qolytics is developing next-generation wearable technology that captures human movement and physiological data to improve performance, insights, and outcomes. We are building our hardware team in-house and are looking for a hands-on, execution-focused Embedded Hardware Engineer to lead the development of our wearable hardware platform from prototype to production.

The Role:

You will be responsible for the end-to-end development of custom wearable hardware systems, starting with rapid prototyping and moving into production-ready architecture and designs. This includes electrical design, component selection, PCB development, system integration, validation, and support for manufacturing.

This is a role for someone who enjoys solving real problems, building working systems quickly, and iterating toward robust commercial hardware.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of embedded hardware systems for wearable sensing applications
  • Own schematic capture, PCB layout, and design-for-manufacture
  • Ensure electrical reliability, noise performance, and accurate signal capture
  • Integrate microcontrollers, sensors, radios, and power systems
  • Support firmware bring-up and debugging
  • Work closely with software team to ensure system coherence
  • Prepare documentation for fabrication and assembly
  • Collaborate with external partners for prototype builds and small-batch runs
  • Conduct hardware validation, stress tests, and reliability analyses
  • Support compliance, certification, and production transition

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in embedded hardware or electronic product development
  • Strong background in designing microcontroller-based hardware
  • Experience with sensors, power systems, and wireless-enabled embedded devices
  • Proficiency with PCB design tools
  • Ability to debug complex hardware issues
  • Strong understanding of mixed-signal design principles
  • Practical, execution-driven, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working quickly with prototypes and iteration cycles
  • Follows requirements precisely; avoids over-engineering
  • Strong communication and documentation
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience building wearable devices or miniaturized electronics
  • Familiarity with motion sensing, physiological signals, or real-time embedded systems
  • Experience optimizing battery-powered products

Why Join Qolytics:

  • Fully remote & flexible: work wherever and whenever you’re most productive.
  • Make a direct impact on a meaningful human-performance technology
  • Professional growth: work directly with technical founders and grow with us professionally and personally.
  • Collaborative culture: small team, big trust, zero micromanagement. Long term relationship.

No minimum education required. We value what you can build, not where you studied. If you’ve published projects on GitHub, YouTube, or anywhere else, we want to see them.
