Job Description


We are looking for a Software Asset Manager who is willing to relocate to join our Client’s team in Brussels, Belgium.

Key Responsibilities

Software Inventory & Compliance

  • Define and communicate inventory guides; organize kick-off meetings with operational contacts.
  • Manage software compliance inventories and ensure usage aligns with contract terms.
  • Consolidate and reconcile inventory data from multiple sources.
  • Produce compliance reports and monitor associated remediation plans.
  • Analyze financial and contractual impacts of non-conformities.
  • Provide alerts and escalations to Management when needed.

Support to Procurement & Operational Teams

  • Assist Purchasing during contract negotiations with licensing input.
  • Recommend license acquisition strategies based on compliance and usage insights.
  • Contribute to drafting license-related contract clauses and metric definitions.
  • Support operational teams in optimizing software use in line with licensing rules.
  • Participate in project reviews to anticipate future software needs or impacts.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to improving data quality across asset inventories.
  • Promote best practices in Software Asset Management (SAM).
  • Propose enhancements to reduce risk, control costs, and ensure ongoing compliance.


Mandatory Experience & Skills

  • Deep expertise in licensing practices and vendor metrics (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, etc.).
  • Proven experience with software discovery tools and inventory management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel for data manipulation, transformation, and reporting.
  • Hands-on knowledge of SharePoint for organizing documentation and datasets.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools and Software Asset Management platforms.
  • Previous experience producing and analyzing compliance reports.
  • Experience with BMC ITSM and Smart Reporting is a strong plus.
