Imagine combining the reach of a modern job marketplace with the clarity of an AI answer engine and the trust of a curated talent network — purpose-built for frontline workers. We help jobseekers quickly find the right role and shift for their lives, while helping companies hire with confidence through better matching, vetting, and follow-through.
Our mission is to help 100 million people improve their careers and lives through the use of technology and AI. You’ll join at a pivotal stage — the apps team is the product face of JobLeap, and you’ll be taking ownership of the entire jobseeker experience and the matching layer that powers it.
Role summary
We’re hiring our Founding Product Manager to take over product leadership of the apps team and set the product direction for JobLeap’s jobseeker experience and matching engine. To date, the product has been founder-led - driven directly by the CTO and founding team through fast iteration, deep customer exposure, and tight cross-functional collaboration.
You will step into that founder-led model and own it end-to-end: establishing clear strategy, defining kpi’s, prioritization, and execution rituals that maintain speed while delivering value. This is a hands-on role where you will own discovery through delivery, align stakeholders, and run the day-to-day product function for the apps team.
You will not have direct reports initially, but you will lead through influence across engineering, design, growth marketing, and marketplace stakeholders.
What you’ll own
- Founder-led product ownership (transition). Take over day-to-day product leadership from the CTO and founding team, preserving what’s working while formalizing what needs to scale: prioritization, decision-making, execution cadence, and measurement.
- Product leadership & strategy. Define and communicate the product vision and multi-quarter roadmap for the jobseeker experience and matching engine. Ensure priorities are aligned and visible across CEO, CTO, Growth Marketing, and Marketplace.
- End-to-end ownership. Own discovery through delivery for mobile + web jobseeker experiences and the matching layer that powers them — from onboarding and profile quality to discovery, application flows, scheduling, and retention.
- Execution & delivery. Reduce rework and thrash through crisp problem framing, tight scoping, strong PRDs/requirements, and clear acceptance criteria. Ensure P0 initiatives ship on time and are measurable.
- Cross-functional leadership. Lead collaboration with product design, engineers, growth marketing, and marketplace stakeholders to ship outcomes. Serve as the connective tissue that keeps teams aligned on goals, scope, and success metrics.
- Customer & market insights. Run continuous qualitative and quantitative discovery: user interviews, funnel analysis, CRM insights, cohort retention, and structured feedback loops.
- Product metrics & accountability. Define KPIs and dashboards; own measurement for product initiatives that impact enterprise activation, expansion, and deal velocity. Drive clarity on what success means before anything ships.
- Operationalizing product. Build product rituals that scale: roadmap reviews, weekly prioritization, stakeholder updates, launch readiness, post-launch learning, and decision logs.
Key outcomes in the first 3–6 months
- Clear product alignment — product priorities established and shared across CEO, CTO, Growth Marketing, and Marketplace with a visible roadmap and operating cadence.
- Faster, higher-quality delivery — measurable reduction in thrash/rework and cycle time; improved on-time delivery for P0 work.
- Commercial impact — measurable improvements in enterprise activation, expansion, or deal velocity tied directly to product initiatives.
- Operational excellence — consistent release cadence, KPI instrumentation, and a repeatable discovery → delivery → learn loop for the apps team.
Required qualifications (must-have)
- 6+ years product management experience with increasing responsibility; experience owning products end-to-end from discovery to launch and iteration.
- Comfort operating in founder-led environments: high ambiguity, fast iteration, and direct stakeholder involvement — while bringing clarity and structure without slowing velocity.
- Strong domain familiarity with marketplaces, recommendation systems/matching, CRM/engagement workflows, or recruiting/HR tech.
- Proven ability to ship products on mobile and/or web; consumer and mobile experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical ability: you can define success metrics, instrument funnels, interpret data, and make decisions grounded in outcomes. (SQL or equivalent is a plus.)
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication: you can align CEO/CTO/Growth/Marketplace around priorities and tradeoffs.
- Strong product craft: crisp writing, high-quality requirements, effective experimentation, and pragmatic decision-making.
- U.S. citizen (required).
Preferred qualifications (nice-to-have)
- Experience building or partnering closely on recommendation engines, ranking, matching, or ML-driven personalization.
- Experience with CRM systems and workflows (lifecycle messaging, engagement, segmentation, pipeline/activation flows).
- Experience in high-growth startups and early-stage product functions (founding PM, first PM, or early product leader).
- Experience driving measurable enterprise activation and expansion outcomes in a product-led or sales-assisted motion.
Working style & values
- Outcome-driven: you optimize for measurable impact, not feature output.
- High-velocity, low-thrash: you keep the speed of a startup while improving clarity and predictability.
- Customer-anchored: you spend time with jobseekers and internal teams to understand pain points deeply.
- Strong judgment: you know when to go deep and when to ship fast, and you make tradeoffs explicit.
Benefits
- Fully remote (U.S. citizens only)
- $140K–$180K salary + equity
- Standard benefits (medical/vision/dental) and flexible PTO
