About The Role

As a Marketing Data Scientist at Confluent, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing and optimizing our marketing efforts. Your primary focus will be on evaluating lead funnel efficiency, measuring marketing performance, and managing pipeline health. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Growth, Sales, and Finance to extract insights from complex data sets, identify opportunities for growth, and support strategic decision-making. This role requires a deep understanding of marketing metrics, data analysis techniques, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your work will directly influence campaign strategies, pipeline development, and overall business growth, making this an exciting opportunity for a data-driven professional passionate about marketing analytics.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience supporting marketing functions within a data science capacity, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment
  • Proficiency in SQL with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in data manipulation and querying
  • Strong scripting skills in Python or R for data analysis and automation
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau to develop dashboards and reports
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Experience with marketing attribution models across multiple channels including SEO, Paid Search, and Social Media
  • Knowledge of A/B testing frameworks and methodologies to evaluate product features and marketing campaigns
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative discipline

Responsibilities

  • Identify high-impact opportunities through comprehensive data exploration and analysis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate strategic insights that improve top-of-funnel conversion metrics
  • Define and develop scalable marketing metrics and reports to monitor pipeline health and campaign performance
  • Share insights and actionable recommendations with leadership to influence marketing and sales strategies
  • Design and execute A/B tests to assess the impact of product features, marketing initiatives, and campaigns
  • Analyze customer journey metrics such as ROI and Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV) to identify growth opportunities
  • Work with other data scientists to share best practices, develop new analytical techniques, and foster a data-centric decision-making culture
  • Support the development of attribution models to evaluate marketing channel effectiveness and optimize marketing spend
