Position:
We are seeking an experienced Release Manager / Scrum Master to join our team and delivery organization. This role combines strong Agile leadership with a solid technical background, ensuring smooth sprint execution, high-quality releases and continuous improvement across cross-functional teams.
This role will be responsible for owning and coordinating the release management process across environments, while also organizing and facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, team sizing sessions, backlog grooming sessions, end-of-sprint ceremonies, creating dashboards & reports to show team productivity and velocity.
The Release Management duties of the role will include planning, coordinating, and managing software releases, along with overseeing version control, release schedules, and build status, in communication with the PM, QA, BA, Dev team, and Stakeholders.
The Release Manager/Scrum Master will also serve as impediment remover for the team, creating and managing tasks based on business requirements documentation and specifications provided by the Product Owner team.
Essential Prerogatives:
- Work closely with Tech Leads, Architects, Business Analysts and Stakeholders to understand the product strategy, vision and priorities, to ensure development delivery is aligned and backlog items have clear and concise acceptance criteria to meet as-expected results for each sprint deliverable;
- Facilitate backlog grooming with Product Owners, Architects, BAs and Development teams to ensure priorities, understanding, and dependencies are clear prior to each sprint planning;
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives), driving continuous improvement through follow-up and action plans;
- Create dashboards and reports that provide consistency and productivity metrics and can provide teams and the organization with relevant product delivery status;
- Release planning & management: Ensure release readiness, including quality checks, documentation and stakeholder communication; Plan, coordinate and execute software releases; Maintain release calendar; Manage dependencies and align releases with business priorities;
- Escalation handling and follow-up.
Essential Skills:
- 3+ years of experience as a Release Manager, Scrum Master, or similar role with a software development team that applied Scrum principles & practices;
- Technical background in software development, engineering or IT (hands-on experience);
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and software development lifecycles;
- Excellent working knowledge of Agile tools (e.g. JIRA);
- People management experience; leadership qualities;
- Ability to understand complex technical and business problems to effectively remove team impediments, to manage multiple priorities, to mitigate project risk(s) and deliver successful outcomes;
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
- A team player with an interest in collaborating and working in a multicultural environment daily.
