Data Engineer

Must-Have Skills

  • 3+ years’ Data Engineering experience
  • Strong SQL and NoSQL skills
  • Experience with data modeling, ELT pipelines, and data warehousing
  • Cloud expertise (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and data security best practices
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker)


The Role

As a Data Engineer, you’ll design and deliver scalable data systems that power everything from underwriting to analytics. You’ll collaborate with engineering, product, and actuarial teams to build the infrastructure, pipelines, and governance that enable smarter, faster decisions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a modern, scalable data stack across multiple cloud platforms
  • Design and optimize data pipelines, models, and governance frameworks
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and security across systems
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Champion data best practices and foster a data-driven culture


Bonus Skills

  • Startup or high-growth environment experience
  • Experience with Terraform, dbt, Fivetran, HevoData, or Airflow
  • Exposure to insurance data challenges, AI/ML, or predictive analytics
  • STEM degree or strong background in data science/statistics
