About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Information Technology (IT) and Video Learning Environment (VLE) Manager to lead our institution’s digital transformation and ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services across academic and administrative functions. This is a strategic leadership role that combines technical expertise, project management, and team leadership to support our mission in higher education.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the IT department, providing direction, motivation, and professional development to the team.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
- Develop and implement IT strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance teaching, learning, and administration.
- Manage IT infrastructure, systems, and applications, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) Student Information Systems (SIS), and Video Learning Environment (VLE)
- Ensure compliance with IT security best practices, data protection regulations, and risk management principles.
- Oversee IT budget planning, procurement, and vendor management.
- Act as a key liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.
- Level 4 Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Professional certifications such as COBIT, ITIL, PMP, or PRINCE2 are highly desirable.
- Minimum 5–7 years of IT and Video Lerarning Environment (VLE) management experience, ideally within higher or further education institutions.
- Proven track record in leading IT teams, managing projects, and implementing technology solutions.
- Strong knowledge of educational IT and Video Learning Environment (VLE)systems and infrastructure.
- Experience in budget management and vendor relations.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset.
- Proficiency in IT and Video Learning Environment (VLE)project management methodologies and tools.
- Outstanding communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Customer service orientation with a commitment to supporting faculty, staff, and students.
- Integrity, professionalism, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborative approach with cross-functional teams.
- Continuous learner, staying updated on IT and education technology trends.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends when required.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations governing IT in the education sector.
- Fluency both in English and Italian
