Job Description
About the job
Lucas James Talent Partners is partnering with Phothera, a subsidiary of Madison Medical (part of Madison Industries), to hire a Director of Digital Marketing. This is a fully remote, high-impact opportunity to architect and scale Phothera’s digital growth engine—driving clinician adoption and patient engagement for the company’s FDA-cleared home phototherapy device.
This is a rare opportunity to build from the ground up in a fast-moving, well-funded organization while operating as the hands-on digital expert shaping Phothera’s commercial future.
About Phothera
At Phothera, we are transforming the future of phototherapy to make people safer, healthier, and more productive. Chronic skin conditions such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and vitiligo are life-altering, and many traditional treatments are costly or carry significant side effects. Phototherapy is a well-established, drug-free treatment option that is safe, clinician-guided, and clinically supported.
Phothera expands access to phototherapy through innovative devices and a modern approach to dermatology care—helping payers reduce costs, helping providers deliver better outcomes, and empowering patients with treatment options at home or in the clinic.
We are seeking entrepreneurial digital marketing leaders who want to build meaningful, long-term impact and accelerate Phothera’s next phase of growth.
About the Role
The Director of Digital Marketing (IC) will own Phothera’s full-funnel digital acquisition strategy across both clinicians and patients. This is a true builder role: you will design, launch, and optimize digital programs that drive dermatologist adoption, accelerate prescription volume, and support patient acquisition and conversion.
You will be the hands-on expert—executing campaigns, refining funnels, designing automation workflows, applying AI tools, and building the analytics foundation that ties digital spend to commercial outcomes. You’ll partner closely with Sales, Market Access, Operations, and Patient Support in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and execute an end-to-end digital marketing strategy focused primarily on dermatologists and other clinicians, with a secondary focus on patient acquisition
• Design and manage performance campaigns across LinkedIn, Google Ads (Search + PMAX), Meta/Instagram, YouTube, and HCP-specific platforms (e.g., Doximity, Medscape, WebMD)
• Use NPI-based targeting and clinician-level segmentation to reach dermatologists with relevant, high-intent messaging
• Architect digital funnels that move clinicians from awareness → first prescription → recurring prescriptions, including automated nurture, retargeting, and activation sequences
• Support patient acquisition and conversion from search and high-intent digital journeys into consults and treatment onboarding
• Build marketing automation workflows aligned to Salesforce—ensuring clean handoffs to field sales, eligibility/PA teams, and patient support
• Own tracking, analytics, attribution, and reporting across GA4, Salesforce, and ad platforms
• Run structured experimentation across creative, landing pages, audiences, and bidding strategies
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate testing, improve content velocity, and optimize targeting and search behavior
• Partner closely with Sales and leadership to align digital programs with territory priorities and commercial objectives
• Monitor competitive, digital health, and specialty-care marketing trends to identify emerging opportunities
What Success Looks Like
• Growth in qualified dermatologist reach, engagement, and prescription activity driven by digital programs
• Efficient, predictable clinician and patient acquisition costs with continuous improvement
• Strong funnel performance across awareness → script → recurring utilization
• Automated journeys that reduce friction for clinicians, staff, and patients
• Unified analytics across channels that tie spend to clinical and commercial outcomes
• A culture of experimentation, iteration, and AI-enabled innovation
Required Qualifications
• Significant hands-on digital or performance marketing experience (7–12+ years preferred), ideally within healthcare, MedTech, pharma, digital health, or clinician-driven environments
• Demonstrated experience marketing to clinicians (HCPs); dermatology or specialty-care experience strongly preferred
• Proven ability to build and optimize campaigns in Google Ads, LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube, and/or HCP advertising platforms
• Strong command of clinician funnel design, segmentation, and NPI-level targeting
• Expertise with analytics tools such as GA4 and comfort building or interpreting dashboards
• Experience designing automation workflows in platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or SFMC
• Highly analytical with the ability to diagnose tracking or conversion issues and implement solutions
• Hands-on experience using AI tools for workflow acceleration, creative iteration, and optimization
• Builder/operator mentality with strong ownership and comfort in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
• Exceptional communication and cross-functional partnering skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Dermatology, phototherapy, biologics, or specialty-care digital marketing experience
• Experience in digital health or MedTech organizations where clinicians prescribe treatments/devices
• Experience with HCP platforms such as Doximity, Medscape, Sermo, WebMD
• Background as the first digital hire or in startup/high-growth environments
• Experience tying digital spend directly to commercial outcomes via Salesforce or similar CRMs
Compensation and Benefits
• Base salary: $140,000 – $175,000 per year, commensurate with experience, location, and market conditions
• Comprehensive benefits package through Madison Medical / Madison Industries
• Fully remote role based in the United States
• Significant opportunity for upward growth as digital becomes a core commercial driver
