Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT project manager to join the company permanently and oversee the continuing upgrade of an existing successful public facing health-focused e-commerce website (established 2010) and manage a team of 3 experienced developers.
The successful candidate will also work closely with senior management on a range of aspects to ensure continued commercial success of the business, supplier relations, customer service technical support, governance meetings, and the development of additional services/features. Job shadowing and tutoring will be part of the process.Â
The upgrade project underway involves the migration of the site from Zend Framework to modern technologies, including a VueJS 3 frontend and a Symfony backend.
There will be opportunities to influence and direct the exact methods and technologies used during the migration.Â
The position is fully remote though proximity to Bristol would be advantageous as attendance at occasional face-to-face meetings is required. Candidates must be UK-based.
Strong time management skills are necessary as is the ability to switch between projects and tasks as required while prioritising long and short term needs.
- Proven experience as managing software development and lifecycles, successfully delivering software projects on time and within budget.
- Knowledge of modern web application architectures, ability to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches.
- Management of testing, staging and deployments processes and environments.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.

- Ubuntu server management
- Familiarity with Node/Javascript frontend and PHP framework based back-end architectures.
- System migration and transition management.
- Experience with containerised applications, using docker or similar technologies.
- Payments processing and e-commerce with a variety of providers.
- Deployment strategies and CI / CD methods
- Knowledge of establishing and maintaining secure and reliable systems.
- IT security and data privacy/GDPR policy writing and compliance
- Experience with managing external providers of third-party APIs, security testing, etc.
- Linux / Systems administration and management via command-line and web interfaces.
