The Structural Designer will be responsible for developing detailed structural models, drawings, and documentation for super high-rise towers. The role focuses on translating engineering designs into accurate and constructible outputs while ensuring compliance with international codes, client requirements, and project standards.
Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:- Develop 3D structural models for super high-rise towers using software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or Revit Structure.
- Prepare detailed construction drawings including plans, sections, elevations, and reinforcement details.
- Ensure proper integration of architectural, MEP, and façade elements within the structural model.
- Generate shop drawings and reinforcement detailing for columns, cores, mega-columns, transfer beams, outriggers, and floor slabs.
- Maintain accurate drawing logs, revision history, and version control.
- Prepare technical documentation supporting design calculations and approvals.
- Collaborate closely with structural engineers, architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to resolve design conflicts.
- Participate in design review meetings, workshops, and coordination sessions.
- Assist in addressing RFI (Request for Information) and design clarifications during construction.
- Ensure all design outputs comply with international and local codes (ACI, AISC, BS, Eurocodes, UBC, SBC).
- Maintain high-quality standards in modeling, detailing, and documentation.
- Support QA/QC processes and ensure constructability of design solutions.
- Diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years’ experience in structural design, with at least 3–5 years dedicated experience in super high-rise towers (40+ stories).
- Demonstrated experience working on projects above 150–200 meters, preferably mixed-use, commercial, or residential towers.
- Strong proficiency in tools (AutoCAD, Revit Structure, Tekla, etc.).
- Strong proficiency in structural analysis and BIM software.
- Solid understanding of lateral load design, wind and seismic analysis, and tall-building behavior.
- Proven ability to solve complex engineering challenges and deliver accurate, high-quality design outputs.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and coordination skills.Â
- Knowledge of performance-based design (PBD) and wind tunnel analysis
- Experience with transfer structures, sky-lobbies, and mega-columns
- Understanding of construction sequencing and temporary works
- Familiarity with international design standards and Saudi building regulations
