Job Title: MuleSoft Integration Engineer
Location: Boston, MA (Local candidates or Day-1 Relocation only)
Client: Financial Services Company
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6 Months (Extension expected)
Note: Candidates must have experience in Financial Services and Investment Banking (not Retail Banking).
Must have strong understanding of Investment Data and be MuleSoft Certified.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced MuleSoft Integration Engineer (12+ Years) to join the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Technology organization. This role will focus on building and implementing MuleSoft-based integration solutions for the Investment Data Platform and supporting the launch of a new Derivatives Platform. The position requires deep expertise in API development, cloud integration, and modern messaging frameworks, particularly within capital markets environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement scalable MuleSoft API services to integrate internal investment systems with the Investment Data Platform.
- Build and support APIs for the new Derivatives Platform and ensure seamless integration with enterprise systems.
- Collaborate with investment business analysts and technology teams to translate business needs into technical integration solutions.
- Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) to modernize and enhance MuleSoft integration architecture.
- Implement reliable error handling, logging, and monitoring mechanisms to improve API performance.
- Ensure compliance with Agile and DevOps processes for continuous delivery and deployment.
- Partner with the EDM Technology team and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on data integration strategies.
- Develop and maintain integration frameworks supporting financial data (instruments, trades, positions, cash flows, pricing, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- 12+ years of total IT experience with strong integration and API development background.
- Minimum 5 8 years of hands-on MuleSoft integration design, development, and deployment.
- Proven experience in investment banking or financial markets working with investment data structures.
- Strong expertise in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, REST/SOAP, Services, and Messaging integration patterns.
- Proficiency in Java, J2EE, Python, or similar backend languages.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or other event-streaming technologies.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud integration patterns.
- Strong understanding of JSON, XML, XSLT, data modeling, and transformation techniques.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience delivering solutions using Agile practices (Scrum/Kanban) and DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- MuleSoft Certifications (Required)
- Experience implementing high-volume, low-latency event streaming pipelines using Kafka
- Exposure to Derivatives, Fixed Income, Equities, and other market data
- Experience in API-led connectivity architecture and Real-time messaging patterns
- Background supporting enterprise data management and cloud modernization projects
