Role Description

This is a contractual Automation Engineer role with a flexible work arrangement - you can work fully remote or join us in our offices when convenient.


Your core focus will be designing, building, and maintaining automated workflows using n8n (and occasionally Zapier or similar tools). You’ll integrate systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Shopify, Xero, Slack, and internal databases; streamline complex business processes; and eliminate manual work through smart orchestration and error-resilient automations.


You will have the opportunity to work directly alongside the founder and also join our wider community of automation, BI, and AI specialists, gaining exposure to diverse projects, industries, and toolsets, giving you opportunities to continuously expand your technical and operational skillset.


Time Commitment

The role can be fulfilled full time or part time commitments to as little as availability to work 15 hours / week as a minimum.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience building automation workflows in n8n (preferred), Zapier, Make, or similar platforms.
  • Confident and strong in English communication.
  • Practical experience writing JavaScript inside workflow nodes and working with JSON data structures.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, webhooks, authentication flows, and SaaS integrations.
  • Ability to interpret complex API documentation and independently troubleshoot integration issues.
  • Experience implementing structured error handling, retry logic, validation, and monitoring within automations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders and translate requirements into automation logic.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an engineering/technical discipline


Nice to Have

  • Solid grasp of business process mapping, workflow design, and data flow logic.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools or data transformation pipelines.
  • Experience with ODS and system integration
  • Background working in finance, retail operations, or B2B process environments.
  • Experience with Power Automate and/or Copilot Studio.
  • Experience connecting platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Shopify, Xero, Google Sheets, Slack, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms (e.g., Odoo, Business Central).
  • Experience working for a BI Development Agency/Consultancy is a plus
