Job Description
AUX Partners works closely with an industry leading manufacturer that is searching for an experienced Design Engineering Manager. This would be a full-time role with a great starting salary, relocation package, benefits, and opportunity to work with a close-knit and successful team!
Responsibilities
- Responsible for aligning Design Engineering team with organizational goals.
- Uses a strong analytical approach to problem-solving and create cost effective solutions. Uses critical thinking and problem-solving skills to drive operational excellence.
- Completes all project assignments within established scope, budget, and schedule.
- Generates solid models and fixtures along with detailed dimensioned drawings.
- Provides technical review, understanding, and recommendations of sketches, descriptions, and specifications provided by engineers.
- Develops prototypes for new equipment and fixture designs and executes testing on said prototypes, as necessary.
- Coordinate fabrication efforts with the Tool Room and Maintenance departments
- Leads and collaborate on designs in a team environment, including formal design reviews
- Other tasks and project work, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Possess an Engineering Degree from an accredited university, Mechanical degree highly preferred.
- 8-10+ years of hands-on relevant design experience, required.
- Design experience from concept to completion, required.
- Prior tool and die, product development, and/or fixture design experience preferred
- Strong Familiarity with Machinery’s Handbook
- A strong understanding of manufacturing processes (milling, turning, welding, etc.) and their limitations, required.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret 2D mechanical drawings and generating creative solutions to unique design challenges.
- Willing to “roll up sleeves and do what needs to get done” to consistently deliver results.
- Ability to navigate ambiguous situations, influence peers and drive execution.
