We have a 12 month contract to hire for a senior-level backend engineer with 5+ years of experience designing and building scalable, cloud-based APIs, with deep expertise in Golang, Kafka, and MongoDB. They thrive in Agile environments, can work independently on complex enterprise systems, and bring strong healthcare domain knowledge—especially EDI or transactional systems—as a valuable plus. 100% Remote.
Shift: 9-6pm

About this Role:
- Team consists of Engineer Lead, Sr. Engineers, BSA Lead, Sr. BSA, QA, Product Owner, Scrum master working in an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Everything will be backend.
- This person will also be responsible for working through any prod issues as well as any new projects. For new projects: contractor will be collaborating with Tech Lead and BSAs on the team at the beginning of any new projects.
- Once the design for the new project(s) is established and broken out into stories, the contractor will work individually on their stories. Stories can be a new project, enhancements or prod issues.
- Work on new requirements for the existing system (requires backend API work)
- Work on issues for the existing system (requires backend API work)
- Possible new projects (may include backend API work or some UI work)
- Performance Expectations:
- 2-week sprint deliverables that can easily have a prioritization change
- Opportunity learn and to work on 278 transactions (industry standard), gaining backend knowledge of electronic transactions. The finance and healthcare industry work heavily with 278 transactions so this position provides opportunity to gain exposure and experience with the EDI 278 piece.
