This is a remote-first role. The company currently hires in most U.S. states, with the exception of Hawaii.


About the Role

Our client is hiring a Provider Background Check Specialist to enhance the trust and safety of its provider network. This individual will be responsible for managing and reviewing provider background checks to ensure every clinician meets the organization’s compliance and ethical standards. This person will apply strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and cross-functional collaboration to uphold accuracy and trust in provider records.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years in operations, credentialing, compliance, or background screening with a regulated workflow and queue management responsibilities
  • Hands-on experience with Google Sheets / Excel (filters, conditional formatting, lookups, pivots). Able to explore data and derive basic insights
  • Clear written documentation & templated communication (notes, status updates, provider / vendor email)
  • Experience creating and maintaining structured records in tools like Salesforce, Airtable, or other CRM / operational databases
  • Able to organize and run meetings with a clear agenda, goals, and action items
  • While this is a fully remote company, candidates who reside in California or Washington are not being considered for this particular position


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience writing or improving SOPs and process documentation to improve clarity or reduce errors.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, with curiosity to expand into broader credentialing or compliance operations.
  • Experience handling legally or personally sensitive information (e.g., FCRA, HIPAA) with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Experience using Checkr or another PBSA-accredited background check platform.
  • Familiarity with healthcare or telehealth credentialing processes, such as license verification, COI management, or re-credentialing workflows.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume queue while meeting defined SLAs and maintaining accuracy.
