The Role: Senior Software Engineer (Hybrid)
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be the driving force behind the distributed software systems at the core of our client’s next-generation automation platforms. You will tackle complex system-level challenges, design and implement mission-critical modules, and collaborate with top-tier architects to build the robust, scalable solutions that orchestrate fleets of robots and power real-time, AI-driven decisions.
Your Impact Will Include:
- Architecting and building core, scalable modules for distributed systems.
- Leading the development of critical product features from concept to deployment.
- Optimizing and refactoring complex algorithms and services to enhance performance and reliability.
- Mentoring talented engineers and establishing best practices for high-quality, resilient code.
- Validating system performance at scale through advanced simulation and testing.
Your Technical Profile
This role is for a seasoned engineer with a deep understanding of building systems that cannot fail. While deep experience is paramount, we are looking for a specific technical DNA.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional software development experience with elite problem-solving abilities.
- Deep, hands-on expertise in at least one of the following high-concurrency, functional, or systems-level programming languages: Erlang, Elixir, Haskell, Akka (Scala), Gleam, or Pony.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining high-availability systems using microservices architecture and REST-based APIs.
- Strong command of RDBMS/SQL and experience with databases in a production environment.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Significant hands-on experience in Erlang, with a strong understanding of its concurrency model (processes, message passing, supervision trees).
- A deep background in large-scale distributed systems, ideally with significant experience in environments like warehousing, e-commerce (e.g., Amazon fulfillment centers), or distribution hubs.
- Background in real-time systems, telecom-grade architectures, or robotics platforms.
- Exposure to modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
