Position Responsibilities:
As an SCCM Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and advancing our System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) infrastructure. You will work collaboratively with IT teams to ensure reliable software distribution, operating system deployment, device imaging, patch management, and strong endpoint compliance. Your expertise will help streamline IT operations while delivering a high standard of service to technology users across the business.
- Maintain, monitor, and optimize the SCCM infrastructure to provide reliable support for software distribution, operating system deployment, and organizational updates.
- Configure and manage software packages, application deployments, and device collections within SCCM to ensure uniformity and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, refine, and enforce organizational standards for software and configurations, including maintaining and updating imaging task sequences for new hardware drivers.
- Monitor the health and performance of SCCM components, proactively troubleshooting and resolving technical and operational issues as they arise.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of SCCM environments, including architecture, processes, and standard operating procedures.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (such as PowerShell or VBScript) to increase operational efficiency and minimize repetitive tasks.
- Implement and uphold security best practices and compliance requirements within the SCCM and endpoint management domains.
- Support patch management programs, ensuring all endpoints adhere to security and update policies.
Essential Skills, Experience:
- Proven professional experience as an SCCM Engineer or in an equivalent SCCM administration role.
- Extensive understanding of SCCM architecture, including infrastructure design, deployment methodologies, endpoint management, and advanced troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in scripting languages, particularly PowerShell and VBScript, to automate, streamline, and simplify administrative processes.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems (including Windows 10, and strongly preferred: Windows 11) and associated technologies.
- Functional experience with patch management, software deployment, device imaging, and compliance monitoring through SCCM.
- Track record of creating clear technical documentation for configurations, standards, and operational runbooks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in both fast-paced and collaborative team environments.
- Experience in supporting large-scale Windows OS upgrades (strongly preferred: Windows 11 upgrade initiatives).
- Strongly preferred: Familiarity with VMware WorkspaceONE or similar enterprise mobility management platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
- Detail-oriented with top-notch organizational and multitasking ability.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as within team-based project environments.
Qualifications:
- Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Manager are preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience in SCCM administration and endpoint management.
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, such as Microsoft Azure and Intune, and their integration with SCCM is a plus.
