Job Description

Bliss Digital is looking for a junior or graduate web developer to join our remote team. We're an established digital agency with 23+ years of experience delivering accessible, human-centred websites for clients who make a real difference—government departments, health organisations, educational institutions, and not-for-profits.

Why this is an exceptional career opportunity

This isn't just another dev job. You'll be working with a market leader in government and enterprise web development, learning from some of Australia's most credentialed Drupal developers.

You'll work on projects that genuinely matter: helping councils serve their communities better, making health information more accessible, supporting educational institutions, and enabling not-for-profits to amplify their impact. If you want your work to have meaning beyond the code, this is the place.

About the role

You'll contribute to government and enterprise projects using modern CMS platforms—primarily Drupal and GovCMS. We value clean code, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA), and practical problem-solving. You don't need to be a Drupal expert yet, but experience with any CMS (WordPress, Craft, etc.) will give you a strong foundation.

This role suits someone early in their career who's excited about modern development practices and eager to learn. If you're curious about AI-assisted development tools like Cursor and want to accelerate your growth alongside a supportive, highly experienced team, this is the right fit.

What we're looking for

Essential:

  • Hands-on experience building websites or applications (university projects, personal sites, or professional work all count)
  • Strong front-end fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Working knowledge of PHP and object-oriented programming
  • Experience using a CMS platform
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills
  • Genuine interest in learning and producing quality work

Bonus points for:

  • Exposure to Drupal, GovCMS or Acquia Cloud
  • IT, Computer Science or related degree
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes or DevOps workflows
  • Experience on larger digital projects

What you'll gain

  • Elite mentorship: Learn from Australia's top Drupal developers in a genuinely supportive environment
  • Meaningful work: Build solutions for sectors that improve lives—government services, healthcare, education, community organisations
  • Enterprise experience: Work with platforms and standards used by major organisations and government departments
  • Modern practices: Embrace AI-assisted coding, contemporary workflows, and cutting-edge tooling
  • Career acceleration: Clear growth pathway in a market-leading agency
  • Remote flexibility: Work from home with a fully remote-first culture
  • Competitive salary package, with clear progression pathway

Eligibility

Due to our government client base, you must have ongoing work rights in Australia (Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident).
