Job Description


Human Resource Generalist 3 (HR Generalist/HRBP)

Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid – typically 4 days onsite, Friday WFH)

Duration: Initial 5-month contract

Pay Rate: $53.43-57.43/hr.

Important Notes:

  • This is an HR Generalist/HRBP role, not Talent Acquisition.
  • Minimum 7 years HR experience, including at least 4 years generalist background: change management, OE/OD, policy, compensation, employee relations, performance management, HRIS, training/development, etc.


Job Description

Reporting to the Director of HR, the HR Manager, HRBP provides strategic HR counsel and support to global functional teams across Global Services and US Region Sales & Marketing within the MMS business unit. This role drives effective implementation of HR practices and programs that enhance organizational effectiveness and associate development. The HRBP will lead and/or support the design and execution of HR processes, initiatives, and organizational improvements.

This position is ideally based in San Diego and follows a hybrid remote/on-site model.


Accountabilities

Organizational Effectiveness & Talent Development

  • Partner with leaders to execute annual HR processes (talent management, performance management, compensation, etc.).
  • Support organizational analyses, org design, employee relations, engagement, and communications.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to help leaders execute business and functional strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to lead and support change initiatives, including business case development, stakeholder engagement, mapping, communication planning, conflict resolution, and post-implementation assessment.
  • Develop and facilitate team-building and development strategies.
  • Assess training and development needs across functional groups and recommend solutions.
  • Lead discussions and support planning for reductions-in-force or restructuring activities.
  • Partner with Access HR on employee relations issues, trend analysis, and resolution.

Staffing

  • Collaborate with hiring managers and TA to define job requirements, competencies, and recruiting strategies.
  • Guide hiring teams through assessment and selection processes using behavioral-based methodologies.
  • Participate in interview panels.
  • Provide consultation on job offers, ensuring internal/external equity and compliance (including relocation/expat considerations).

Compensation

  • Consult on compensation decisions: new hire offers, merit increases, market pricing, incentives, stock recommendations, and adjustments.
  • Partner with TA on compensation for new hires.
  • Support annual compensation planning to ensure alignment between rewards and performance.

Performance Management

  • Guide managers through annual performance management cycles.
  • Coach leaders on documentation for both strong and poor performance.
  • Ensure compliance, consistency, and quality of evaluations.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Serve as process owner for sub-regional HR processes (HRP, PMP, Compensation Planning, T&D, Talent Development programs).
  • Lead or participate in business-wide special projects (acquisition integration, onboarding programs, etc.).
  • Develop, propose, and implement project processes and solutions.


Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of professional HR experience.

At least 4 years HR Generalist experience, including:

  • HRIS
  • Training & development

Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
