Job Description

MLOps Engineer – Python, AWS, PyTorch | Utrecht (MedTech / Robotics)

Ready to build the ML infrastructure behind one of Europe’s most advanced medical robots? This is your chance to support real-time computer vision models that don’t just run in the cloud; they run on a physical device used directly in patient care.

My client is a fast-growing MedTech scale-up (~100 people, 60 in engineering) developing the world’s first autonomous blood-drawing robot. They’re in the final stage before market launch, with CE approval secured and solid funding through 2027. You’ll join the Sensing & Motion cluster (±15 engineers), the team behind the core vision and robotics systems.

What you’ll do

You’ll play a key role in building the full machine learning backbone behind their autonomous blood-drawing robot. Instead of working on cloud-only systems, you’ll focus on models that must run in real time on the device itself. Day to day, you’ll design and improve the entire ML lifecycle: gathering data into AWS, shaping the annotation and training pipelines in Python and PyTorch, and turning trained models into ONNX deployments that run eJiciently on the robot’s local PC. You’ll collaborate closely with two ML algorithm developers, making sure their research becomes reliable, production- ready tooling. Along the way, you’ll help expand the internal datalake and keep the ML infrastructure robust, scalable, and ready for a medical device that’s about to hit the market.

Your profile

• 3+ years in MLOps / ML Engineering.

• Strong Python engineering skills.

• Hands-on with AWS, S3, and ML toolchains.

• Comfortable automating end-to-end ML pipelines.

• Experience with PyTorch; bonus if you know Docker/Kubernetes.

• Interested in computer vision and optimising models for edge/bare-metal.

• Self-directed, practical, and excited about industrialising ML in a regulated, robotics- heavy environment.

What’s in it for you

A salary of €80.000, 8% holiday allowance, pension, 25 vacation days, hybrid working, full travel coverage, and visa/relocation support including the 30% ruling.
