Role overview
We are looking for a junior–mid-level Graphic and Web Designer who enjoys pairing brand and visual design with structured, system-minded web and UI work. You will create clear, consistent, on-brand designs across web, digital, and light print formats, working primarily in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
You should be detail-oriented, comfortable joining active projects, and happy working within and extending an existing brand system.
This is a 15–20 hours per week, permanent, remote contract role with the potential to grow over time.
Key responsibilities
- Create web and digital layouts in Figma, including page designs, components, and responsive variations.
- Design and maintain brand systems, style guides, and UI kits across web and digital channels.
- Prepare and organize design assets, specs, and exports for developers and other team members.
- Design marketing and editorial materials in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign (for example, campaign graphics, one-pagers, simple print collateral).
- Adapt visuals for multiple formats, including desktop, mobile, social media, and basic print.
- Join ongoing projects smoothly, aligning to existing brand direction, structure, and file conventions.
- Keep design files clean, well-organized, and properly named to support shared workflows.
- Collaborate with the project manager, founder, and broader creative team to interpret briefs and refine work based on feedback.
Qualifications and skills
- 3–5+ years of professional experience as a graphic or web designer.
- Prior work in an agency or similarly fast-paced, multi-project environment strongly preferred.
Adobe Creative Suite
- Excellent command of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for digital and light print work.
Figma and web design
- Strong practical knowledge of Figma, including Auto Layout, components, variants, and shared styles.
- Experience designing page layouts and UI that are ready for hand-off to developers.
Visual design fundamentals
- Deep understanding of composition, hierarchy, and typography.
- High standards for spacing, alignment, and visual consistency.
Brand and systems
- Experience developing or extending brand identity systems, style guides, or component libraries.
- Confident preparing production-ready files and structured assets for developers.
Working style
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects at once.
- Effective communicator who is open to feedback and comfortable collaborating remotely.
- Able to join active projects and maintain visual continuity.
Nice to have
- Experience designing PowerPoint templates and presentations using master layouts, consistent typography, and color styles.
- Basic motion design or micro-interaction skills (for example, After Effects, Figmotion).
- Knowledge of accessibility and contrast testing tools.
- Familiarity with project tools such as Jira, Asana, Miro, or Slack.
Work arrangement
- US-based firm with team members in Europe and US.
- Part-time: ~15–20 hours per week to start, with potential to expand.
- Long-term contract role.
- Fully remote and flexible schedule, but must reliably collaborate during overlapping hours with Europe and US and respond across the week (especially Monday through Wednesday).
