Job Details

The (REMOTE) Senior Manager, Software Engineering is responsible for being a hands-on leader of one or more development teams that will be building and deploying systems that are customer-first, leveraging modern, cutting-edge design and integrations across multiple systems. This role is responsible for the execution of development tasks, coaching, training, and communicating with team members, cross-functional development managers, and leadership teams.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area.
  • Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff.
  • Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
  • Manage, plan, and execute web development for Web applications.
  • Enforce technical and coding standards within the web development team, including security and ADA Compliance standards Delegate and systematize the administrative, process-based parts of work, enabling more focus on high-impact, strategic work.
  • Ensure that all code has high test unit coverage, automation scripts, and peer code reviews.
  • Provide the necessary tools and processes for the development team including but not limited to CI/CD process, Automation, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional technical leads and architects to come up with solution architecture for the application.
  • Collaborate with IT, Digital, E-commerce, and product teams to lead a team of developers in managing web projects ensuring timely delivery.
  • Lead the building of custom JavaScript components/modules that can be reused by all developers.
  • Conduct Agile Team ceremonies: daily standup, pointing, planning, review, and retrospectives.
  • Follow web development best practices, processes, and procedures.
  • Manage vendor contractor budget and help IT finance track digital budget.
  • Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts.
  • Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation.
  • Researches and designs application development, infrastructure, or service standards.
  • Provides tiered digital & technology support for end users. Troubleshoots technical problems such as application performance issues or network connectivity problems. Gathers and reports on support metrics in order to identify trends that warrant attention.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.
  • Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the Company.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a multi-disciplinary development team, including: Front-End Developers (React, Section 508, USWDS), Back-End Developers (Azure Functions, APIM, SQL), SQL/SSIS Developers (ETL pipelines, on-prem to Azure migrations), Power BI Developers (reports, dashboards, semantic models).
  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of solutions built on: React front-end, Azure APIM, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI.
  • Manage development processes, including code reviews, branching strategies, and quality gates.
  • Partner with DevOps to enforce CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, ensuring automated builds, testing, and deployments.
  • Track progress using Agile methodologies in ADO, ensuring backlog prioritization and sprint planning.
  • Cultivates leadership and ownership in direct reports.
  • Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date.
  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience required

Professional Experience

  • 6-10 Years management experience required
  • 6-10 Years professional website coding experience required

Compensation

Competitive $170,000 - $180,000 * depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
