Job Description


About the Opportunity:

The organization provides a platform to support and scale in-app subscription monetization for mobile applications. The team operates fully remotely and is seeking an experienced Controller to lead and expand the accounting function. This role is responsible for building a robust accounting environment to support a rapidly scaling SaaS company with IPO goals.


Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the accounting function as the most senior accounting leader.

• Partner with the Head of Finance to support a scaling SaaS business.

• Oversee month-end close, financial reporting, and audits.

• Elevate internal controls and accounting processes.

• Set the foundation for future ERP implementation.

• Develop an understanding of the current accounting stack, processes, and workflows.

• Take ownership of day-to-day accounting activities.

• Assess and improve internal controls.

• Build cross-functional relationships with Finance, People, Ops, and GTM teams.

• Fully own and run the month-end close process.

• Lead key functions such as revenue, AP, AR, payroll accounting, expense management, and reconciliations.

• Develop and document internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.

• Scope requirements and timelines for financial audit.

• Implement and refine accounting processes for speed, accuracy, and compliance.

• Strengthen revenue recognition frameworks aligned with SaaS best practices.

• Manage legal entity, payroll, and tax considerations as the organization scales globally.

• Mentor and manage junior accounting team members or external partners.

• Deliver a well-controlled accounting environment for scale.

• Initiate a full financial accounting audit.

• Build the roadmap for IPO readiness.


Requirements:

• 8+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years at a Big 4 accounting firm with technology or SaaS clients.

• Active CPA and expertise in US GAAP and financial reporting.

• Experience in a meaningful accounting role at a SaaS or enterprise software company, preferably high-growth.

• Experience leading audits and managing external audit relationships.

• Proven responsibility for month-end close, consolidations, revenue recognition, and technical accounting.

• Ability to build, own, and improve accounting processes independently.

• Prior people management experience.

• US-based and knowledgeable in US accounting, payroll, and tax.

• Strong process orientation and attention to detail.

• Comfortable with ambiguity and contributing beyond accounting.

• Ideally, experience with Stripe, QuickBooks Online, and/or enterprise ERP implementation.

• Exposure to IPO readiness.

• Experience with global payroll, M&A, consolidations, and multi-entity setups.
