What You’ll Do
- Lead the development and maintenance of high-quality cross-platform mobile apps built in React Native.
- Architect and optimise features with an eye on scale, speed and overall experience.
- Work closely with designers, backend engineers and product teams to create polished, production-ready mobile products.
- Review code rigorously and support junior and mid-level developers as they grow.
- Integrate complex APIs, native modules and third-party services where needed.
- Resolve performance issues, crashes and the occasional obscure bug that only appears once every 500 sessions.
- Help shape and refine our engineering standards, workflows and best practices.
- Stay current with emerging tools, frameworks and trends in the mobile engineering world.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of professional mobile app development experience.
- At least 3 years of deep, hands-on React Native work.
- Solid JavaScript proficiency and comfort with modern tooling.
- A clear, proven track record of shipping production apps on both iOS and Android.
- Strong knowledge of state management (Redux, MobX, Recoil or Zustand).
- A good grasp of mobile UI/UX patterns and responsive design.
- Experience working with RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Familiarity with native tools (Xcode, Android Studio, Gradle).
- Strong debugging instincts and a habit of thinking in terms of performance.
- Experience in Agile or cross-functional engineering teams.
Bonus Points For
- Native iOS (Swift/Obj-C) or Android (Kotlin/Java) experience.
- CI/CD exposure (Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions).
- Advanced optimisation or memory management skills.
- Experience with test automation (Jest, Detox, Appium).
- Prior mentoring or technical leadership experience.
